NS and BNSF catches in Peoria Metro area

 On February 4, 2021 I decided to go look for some trains picking the Peoria area. I semi wanted to do Jacksonville but didnt know enough about the area. It was a rainy and cool day with sleet and snow at times.

I stop at the Chicago & Illinois Midland old depot in Pekin first and snap some photographs.












I then go check up in East Peoria hoping to catch a Norfolk Southern movement. I spot the BNSF local had arrived out of Galesburg. It would prepare a train to make a return trip later this day.







My friend David decided to help me out on a Norfolk Southern catch as one was soon to depart. I filmed it at East Peoria and at Farmdale Road near East Peoria. It was the NS D49 train.






Finally we go to Peoria where the BNSF M-PEIGAL train was about to depart where take many pictures and I filmed it at Farmington Road in Peoria. He drove me here too.

Today March 21, 2021 decided to explore a few areas as well as look for trains.  My goal was to catch a train at Jacksonville but also check out Roodhouse as well as a depot in Meredosia, Illinois. My first catch was in the morning down at Beardstown where a BNSF Ore empty train was heading out towards Galesburg on the Beardstown Subdivision. After Beardstown I cruise on down hoping to see KCS action down at Roodhouse. Illinois & Midland chase Oakford to Springfield

  Today Saturday, March 13th, 2021 chased an Illinois & Midland Coal Train from Oakford to Springfield, Illinois. I also went to a few spots in Springfield since the last time I have been down here was around 2016. I took mostly pictures but did film the train at Oakford and Springfield. Oakford: Petersburg: Tice: Athens: Springfield: Coal train entering Springfield and the Illinois & Midland yard. Video: While down in Springfield checked out a few spots including Capitol, Lincolns Tomb, and Camp Butler National Cemetery. Capitol: A place our Governor rarely visits. 🤣 Springfield Amtrak Station: Lincoln's Tomb: (wasnt open) Camp Butler Cemetery: I went there because my mother's parents are buried here. I forgot where graves were and walked around section I remember we came too but I got cold so didnt look through entire section.

Warsaw Brewery Company and abandoned tracks

 In Warsaw, Illinois sits an old structure where it was rail served by the TP&W Railroad. This was the Warsaw Brewery Company. It was established in 1860 by Robert Guller. After Guller died his son  took over and it was incorporated as Popel & Guller Company.  In 1933 it was acquired by interested parties and became the Warsaw Brewing Company until it closed in 1972. It sat for two decades vacant before others tried but failed to turn it into a bar, restaurant and reception hall. Pictures taken March 28,2020 Abandoned tracks from South of Hamilton to north of Warsaw. KJRY stores cars on north end while south end abandoned technically out of service but in no condition for anything. Rails service to Warsaw itself probably ceased after Brewery closed unless an elevator was still seeing service.
